Born in the Cape Breton Back Hills and raised in rural Ontario, nature has engraved Sigrid with a strong respect, love and passion for the wilderness and the bounty of the earth.

Her devotion to herbs has led her to apprentice with herbalists where she learned the art of producing tinctures, salves, ointments, creams and body oils using all-natural ingredients. Care is taken to source wildcrafted and organically grown herbs, high quality botanical ingredients and pure essential oils.

Blessed with a free spirit, Sigrid has been guided to many teachers of herbs, spirit and the wilderness.

Her divine talents have blended the forest and the garden in to a collection of nurturing body products, made only with natural, high quality ingredients from botanical sources... good for the earth, great for you!

The story of Sigrid Natural Skin Care

Sigrid Natural Skin Care began in the summer of 2004, shortly after a personal experience with a homemade herbal salve. A wound in my hand wouldn't heal with conventional drugstore creams. Frustrated, I decided to try my friend's homemade comfrey salve. Within a day the swelling went down and the infection ceased. Excited about the efficacy of this homemade product I asked my friend to teach me how to make it. I immediately fell in love with the experience of crafting natural herbal body products, and thus Sigrid Natural Skin Care was born.

I began producing larger batches of my homemade skin care products and giving them to friends as presents. Shortly thereafter, the demand started to grow and people were placing orders. Since 2004 I have been apprenticing, researching, and experimenting to create my current line of unique skin care products.

Today, Sigrid Natural Skin Care can be found at specialty shows, farmers markets and the following select stores: The Big Carrot Dispensary, With Child, Wild Bird, Dandelion Mud Pie, Thuna's Herbs, Herbie's Herbs, Gimme a Squeeze, Grandma's Pantry, Pickles & Quilts and Combermere Craft Store. Please be advised that not all stores carry all products.

Sigrid's Earthy Values

Sigrid Natural Skin Care constantly strives to keep the health of our Earth at the core of product production and decisions relating to the direction of the skin care line. My goal is to provide quality products with a minimal environmental footprint, holding the belief that less is more and that any consumption of resources has an impact on our planet. All products are packaged in glass containers, without the use of extra packaging such as boxes or plastic wraps. The ingredients used are natural and unprocessed, and production is local. Toronto products are delivered by foot, bicycle or TTC.

Future Goals

Sigrid Natural Skin Care is looking into the future with the following goals:

  • Use of vegetable dies on product lables

  • All organic oils

  • Expansion into a sustainable factory

  • Delivery to all retailers and consumers in an environmentally friendly vehicle

  • Use of recycled glass and plastic
