2009 arising: women in nature

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

info@arising.ca

mission

arising is dedicated to bringing women together to connect, create and inspire each other in a natural environment.

what we do

arising hopes to inspire women to explore themselves and life, and cultivate confidence to create their dreams. In order to explore wholeheartedly, arising asks that all participants come with a willingness to learn and an adventurous spirit.

With that in mind, no canoeing or camping experience is required.

who we are

arising co-founders Brandi Borsten, Carly Travers and Sigrid Geddes are avid outdoorswomen who are passionate about exploring natural environments to strengthen sisterhood. We use the wilderness as a medium to enable women to connect to themselves, each other and the earth.

The women of arising have been working with groups in a wilderness setting for years. It is here in nature that we are inspired and gather energy for our souls.

We bring to the trip a variety of skills, knowledge and certification in the areas of canoeing, wilderness skills and first aid, cooking, local organic gardening, yoga, meditation, wild edibles, wild healing herbs and natural history.

contributions

A core value of arising is to provide programs to all women regardless of economic income. Arising is in the process of setting up a scholarship fund. If you would like to contribute towards another woman's arising experience please donate through our umbrella organization, The Phoenix Community Works Foundation www.pcwf.ca and receive a charitable tax receipt for a donation over $30.
